Dr. Abbas Eqbal Mehran is a poet, writer, journalist, literary editor, and historian specializing in the history of Islamic Iran, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. He holds a Ph.D. in History of Islamic Iran from Shahid Chamran University, Ahvaz, and has extensive experience in research, writing, and literary scholarship.

Dr. Mehran has authored several books, including Modernity of the Intellectual Man, Nihilism or the Denial of Meta-Narratives, and multiple poetry collections such as My Words Became Poetry and Greetings to Armenia. His work bridges literary creativity and historical research, reflecting deep engagement with cultural and intellectual history.

He has served as Executive Secretary and Organizer of international conferences and exhibitions on Iran’s historical and cultural relations with Italy, Belgium, and Armenia. Dr. Mehran is also the Editor of the literary journal Anahit and Managing Editor of the Jundishapur Quarterly Journal, contributing extensively to the development of historical and literary scholarship.

His research includes studies on Armenian-Iranian relations, Persian historical documents, cultural identity formation, and literary traditions, published in national and international journals. He continues to lead projects on historical document collections, diplomatic dictionaries, and translations bridging Persian and Armenian literature.
